Miami International Jazz Fest Inc., the non-for profit support organization of Miami International Jazz Fest proudly announces the 2nd Edition of this yearly Jazz Festival.
Friday, May 1st at Cuba Ocho Art & Research Ctr. 1475 SW 8th St. , Miami, Fl. 33135. Doors open at 8:00 pm, Jazz Films Showing at 9 and performance by Jazz pianist / Professor (University of Miami) Martin Bejerano trio.
General Admission: $ 20.00, Reserved seating: $ 35.00 (must purchase, prior to event, minimum 4 persons per table)
Saturday, May 2nd, at Manuel Artime Performing Arts Ctr., 900 SW 1st St., Miami, Fl.33130. Doors open 7:30, Concert Performance 8 PM featuring The Miami International Jazz Fest All Stars Ensemble: Pianist Antulio Mora (Venezuela), bassist Ranses Colon (Venezuela), master timbalero Orestes Vilato (Cuba), master percussionist (bongos) Johnny “Dandy” Rodriguez (New York), Congas Stylist: “Tomasito” Cruz (Cuba), world renown trombonist : Jimmy Bosch (Puerto Rico), saxophone great: Felipe Lamoglia (Cuba), trumpet star: Adalberto “trompetica” Lara (Cuba)

Sunday, May 3rd at Miami Senior High School Theater, 2450 SW 1st St, Miami, Fl. 33135, Doors open 3:30 pm, Concert Performance 4 pm: Emmett Cohen trio, University of Miami Frost Concert Jazz band under the direction of professor John Daversa and Special Guest Star: baritone saxophonist Super Star: Ronnie Cuber.
The 2nd edition of our yearly Festival includes an impressive lineup of stars that will be performing a repertory which reaches beyond the familiar vistas of Afro Cuban/Latin Jazz, incorporating rhythms of bebop, blues and U.S. urban funk, presenting diverse jazz expressions and artists throughout Greater Miami in venues managed by the City of Miami and the Miami Dade School Board
Other Festival activities include a Youth Talent Competition for Miami Dade County students ages 16 to 20, and a master class on Sunday may 3rd to be presented to a selection (nominated by their teachers) of two students per each High School in Miami Dade. The Miami International Jazz Fest aspires to provide unique opportunities that will give music students the ability to partake in many of the event’s activities, as competitors and volunteers.
