San Francisco, CA – The 2017 Fillmore Jazz Festival returns to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of San Francisco’s famed Summer of Love on Saturday and Sunday, July 1 & 2.

More details from Fillmore Jazz Festival (www.FillmoreJazzFestival.com):

San Francisco’s Fillmore Street between Jackson and Eddy transforms into a live music mecca blending sounds of jazz with art and soul in one of the country's most unique neighborhoods. This year’s festival theme, Summer of Love Revisited, will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love and take a trip back to San Francisco’s historic summer of 1967 where legendary rock ‘n roll and soul bands like Santana, Fleetwood Mac, Sly and the Family Stone and Credence Clearwater Revival emerged while some of the most classic albums by Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, Aretha Franklin were released.

The Festival will honor the Summer of Love and celebrate its unifying message of compassion and community while the musicians will honor that spirit by performing a handful of songs from this period, showing how jazz can embrace other musical genres, with uplifting results.

The Fillmore Jazz Festival was founded in 1986 and is the largest FREE jazz festival on the West Coast. During the two-day festival, visitors can groove to the sounds of live music from multiple stages, peruse 12 blocks of fine art and crafts and indulge in gourmet food and beverages. Asian to Cajun, paintings to pottery, old favorites and new directions, the Fillmore Jazz Festival is not to be missed.

A partial list of musical acts has just been announced and includes Artistin-Residence Kim Nalley, and favorites Miss E.C. Scott and Atta Kid. More acts will be announced soon and updates can be found at FillmoreJazzFestival.com.

The Fillmore Jazz Festival is presented by the Fillmore Street Merchants and Improvement Association and produced by Steven Restivo Event Services. Please visit FillmoreJazzFestival.com for updates on artist lineup, vendors and activities.
