This unique, soulful musician will stop you dead in your tracks. Singer-songwriter Gabriel Royal began busking on New York City subways with a dollar in in pocket and a cello under his arm and has since emerged as one of the unique musicians on the contemporary scene. With influences such as Stevie Wonder and Burt Bachrach, Gabriel has been featured at major jazz festivals in 2018. Don’t miss this incredible musical experience. More about Gabriel Royal.

All weekend long in the Pacific Jazz Café, we are proud to exhibit The Color of Jazz, showing the album covers and photographs of Pete Turner, the trailblazing pioneer of color photography. Working with producer Creed Taylor in the 1960s, Pete’s photographs were adapted on the high-gloss gatefold record sleeve designs for the CTI jazz label, which created a revolution in how music was seen and heard, ultimately shaping how advertising and packaging would look for the next 25 years. Full of vibrant color and surreal imagery, The Color of Jazz will exhibit some of Pete’s most iconic creations for CTI, along with the records themselves.
