STATEN ISLAND, NY - Jazz heavyweights filled the lineup October 19th for the 2019 Staten Island JAZZ Festival, the island's longest-running jazz festival, presented by Universal Temple of the Arts and hosted by author/WBGO Jazz 88.3 FM on-air personality Sheila Anderson.

Over the last three decades, the Universal Temple of the Arts (UTA) has continued to celebrate both local and renowned artists while cultivating relationships with musicians, dancers, educators, public office-holders, community, and other organizations contributing to the multi-faceted and dynamic world of jazz through its annual event. Proceeds from the festival support free, year-round arts and education programs for youth and families on Staten Island. The 52-year old organization has continuously produced affordable entertainment and memorable experiences through the lens of promoting, preserving, and presenting jazz from a variety of different perspectives and mediums to loyal enthusiasts and lovers of jazz.
